What Songs Do You Road Trip to, Liona Boyd?
LIONA BOYD IS A LIVING LEGEND WHO, it turns out, has had many legendary road trips. “In the 1960s and ’70s, my entire family would pack into our VW bus and head to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We always had the radio playing music,” says the Toronto-reared guitarist (and acclaimed author) Boyd, whose latest album, This Thing Called Love, is available now. “Twenty years later, living in Toronto, Vancouver, Beverly Hills, Miami, Connecticut and Palm Beach, I navigate the freeways singing along to favourite songs that I have an emotional or nostalgic connection to,” she says. “Some of the catchy, familiar songs will be great for a road trip. Happy driving!”
