Helping with Everyday Necessities
A Letter from Our President
Surrounded by seemingly endless geo-political issues that are affecting every one of us in Canada, costs for everyday essentials continue to rise or stay uncomfortably elevated. At CAA Club Group, we spend a significant part of our day thinking about new ways that we can help our Members get through the disruptions caused by the turmoil around us. Due to rising costs of airfare, many Canadians will be spending their summer vacation this year on a road trip. Some of the many benefits of being a CAA Member are the advantages of being able to save at the fuel pump, saving some money when dining out with the family, getting immediate virtual medical assistance when someone in the family feels unwell, and numerous other tangible benefits.
Through the years, we have added all of these benefits to the CAA Membership through internal innovations and efficiencies, working to increase the value you get from your CAA Membership. For example, when we rescue Members at the roadside, our ‘Gen 2’ technology informs our Controllers of the best locations to pre-position our Rescuers. These innovations save wait time for our Members while also saving fuel costs, which in turn also helps the environment. These cost savings are returned to our Members in the form of added benefits. We believe in continuous improvement to reduce operating costs so that we may improve our services and benefits to the 2.8 million Members who have placed their trust in us.
There is a new CAA Member benefit that is rolling out this year, and I would like to write a few words to introduce it here. We know that Members are facing increased costs everywhere. In 2025, we began work on a program that enables our Members to purchase gift cards (as gifts or for their own personal use) for everyday essentials such as groceries, clothing, dining, travel, etc. A percentage of the gift card value is then added to our Members’ CAA Dollars® account that can be used for anything at CAA such as membership, insurance and travel. Through our efficiency improvements, we felt that creating and funding this program would help our Members with everyday necessities, especially during this time of rising costs and economic uncertainty.
On behalf of every caring Associate at every company in CAA Club Group, thank you for being a valued Member of CAA.
Very best wishes,
