WHERE IN THE WORLD?
Peace Finder
TRAVELLERS SEEKING respite flock to this pristine tiny church in western Manitoba, adjacent to a gas station along the Trans-Canada Highway. Step into an austere interior with spartan high-backed benches and view the lone Bible on a bookcase underneath a cross on the wall, flanked by framed biblical odes.
Our winter issue’s “Where in the World” location was the Cement Cemetery, in the northwest end of Winnipeg. Initially earmarked in the ’60s for a cement manufacturing plant, the site was abandoned when construction plans fell through. Check out our Member Letters to see what CAA Members had to say about it.
